From New Mexico to Dallas: How Ryan Found a Headshot Photographer for His Remote Employee
Hiring a new employee comes with a long list of responsibilities. Finding a professional headshot photographer in another state probably isn't one most people expect.
Ryan is based in New Mexico. Miranda is based in Dallas.
After hiring Miranda, Ryan wanted her to have a professional headshot that reflected both her personality and professionalism. There was just one challenge. He didn't know any photographers in Texas.
Like most of us would, Ryan opened Google and started searching.
As a headshot photographer serving Dallas, Rockwall, Plano, and the surrounding areas, I often work with local professionals. What made this situation different was that the person arranging everything was hundreds of miles away!
After Ryan and I spoke, it became clear that we were looking for the same thing. He wanted images that felt approachable, polished, and authentic to Miranda. Not stiff. Not overly corporate. Just a great representation of who she is.
When Miranda arrived at the studio, she was a little unsure of what to expect - that's completely normal. Most people don't spend their free time practicing for headshots in front of a mirror.
She chose to add professional makeup services with Angeline Jasmin Beauty, which complemented her hair perfectly and helped her feel prepared for the session. Once we started photographing, the nerves gradually faded, and her personality began to shine through.
One of my favorite parts of any headshot session isn't actually taking the photos. It's watching the transformation that happens when someone realizes they don't have to "perform" for the camera.
The best part wasn't the photos. It was watching the shift from the slightly nervous person who walked into the studio to the excited person who walked out. By the end of the session, Miranda had reviewed her images, selected the ones she loved, and couldn't wait to share them with Ryan for final approval.
For Ryan, the experience solved a problem that many leaders face today. Remote teams are more common, but first impressions still matter. Whether someone is updating LinkedIn, joining a company website, speaking at conferences, or meeting clients, a professional headshot helps put a face to a name.
For Miranda, it was an opportunity to start her new role with images that felt like her.
And for Ryan, it was proof that sometimes all you need is a Google search, a good conversation, and the right person on the other end of the phone.
If you're looking for a Dallas headshot photographer, a Rockwall headshot photographer, or professional business headshots in North Texas, I'd love to help make the process easy, whether you're booking for yourself or for a team member located hundreds of miles away.
